South Carolina style BBQ sauce isn’t very different from our Central North Carolina BBQ sauce. The big difference is the addition of yellow mustard.
1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
3 Tablespoons Tar River Seasoning
1/2 Cup Prepared Yellow Mustard (we use French’s)
1. Combine the vinegar and seasoning in a microwave-safe cup.
2. Heat the mixture in the microwave on high for 45 seconds.
3. Stir the mixture until the sugar in the seasoning dissolves.
4. Stir in the mustard until well combined.
Makes just over 1 cup.
Baste on pork or chicken during final 15 minutes of cooking.
Refrigerate unused sauce for up to 2 weeks.
